Training update from Melbourne

Manchester United’s pre-season tour has moved on to Melbourne, after Tuesday’s brilliant 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok.

Next up is A-League side Melbourne Victory on Friday in a 11:05 BST kick-off at the world-famous Melbourne Cricket Ground. The game is live on MUTV, the United App and ManUtd.com, like all of the Reds' pre-season fixtures. Discover more about how to watch the action in your location.

Erik ten Hag and his squad flew straight to Australia from the Thai capital following the game, with the flight landing at Melbourne Airport early afternoon local time.

United fans who have been basking in the heatwave back in Manchester may be surprised at the weather conditions which greeted the team when they emerged out on to the AAMI Park pitch later that evening.

It is, of course, Australia’s winter and the players were mostly wrapped up from the cold as they began their post-match recovery session out in the driving rain.

Captain Harry Maguire joined in with the group across the session – he missed out on the win at the Rajamangala Stadium due to a knock, with Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof partnering each other in defence.

Eric Bailly and Alex Telles picked up the reins when Ten Hag rotated his outfield players at half-time.

Our cameras captured the lads as they went through a series of lighter drills, ending with some shooting practice in small nets at the empty ground - located in the shadow of the MCG – where various Melbourne sports clubs, including Victory, play their home games.

Ten Hag will hold his pre-match press conference from AAMI Park and as usual you’ll be able to follow it live through the MUTV cameras on ManUtd.com and the United App.

It’s scheduled to get under way at 12:30 local time, which is 3:30 BST.
