Manchester United boss Marc Skinner sung the praises of veteran striker Rachel Williams during his recent appearance on the UTD Podcast, following the conclusion of our 2022/23 campaign.
Throughout the season, the Reds displayed a never-say-die spirit and came up with multiple late goals at the death to turn the tide in our favour.
One player integral to such moments was summer signing Rachel, with two memorable strikes against Reading in the league and Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final, in particular.
“It’s just a mentality,”
Skinner said, during the latest episode of our official club podcast. “All it is, is we’re not going to give up.
“We’ve got someone like Rach who came in and not a lot of fans gave her a lot of credit.
“If you see that girl, not only would you want to be her friend every day you’d want to run through a wall with her.”
“unbelievable”, adding:
“You know what was beautiful is by the end of the season, when she’d come on, the fans would go mad for her.he continues.
“Rachel is somebody that our fans should get right behind,”
“She was a plaster for three or four years, yet has the ability that she has to come and change games for us the way she does.“
“[Other] teams should be scared of that [mentality shift] and I want them to be scared.
“I want them to be fearful of Manchester United because we’ve arrived.”
