Manchester United can confirm that the Football Association have given our WSL U21 Academy permission to return to training this week, after the club submitted evidence to meet the elite protocols required.
One of only a handful of club academies to reopen at this current time, the news comes during a positive week for the U21 programme after they were awarded the highest grade of ‘Exceeding’ for the second time this year, following the biannual WSL Academy accreditation grading process.
Charlotte Healy, WSL Academy Manager, said:
“It’s fantastic that we can get both the RTC and U21’s back up and running again. It’s so important that every player across our pathway is given the opportunity to continue their development in a safe environment. We were always confident that we could operate under the elite protocols required, and I’d like to thank everybody involved in the process whose support has enabled our whole women’s youth section to return to training. We all can’t wait to get going again.”

“As a club we are very proud of our youth set-up and I’m so pleased they can start training again. Safety of players and staff is paramount, and it is credit to everyone involved at Academy and RTC level that our young players can get back to doing what they love and can continue to strive during these difficult times.”
