On the Conti Cup…

“We enter every competition to try and win it. We know it’s going to be difficult. We have probably the worst group in terms of the most difficult group. It’s going to be a struggle to navigate especially in between two league games. I think there will be some ability to rotate, I am excited to see some of our other players play. As we go into Christmas, we are going to need everybody. When I look back on last season, it wasn’t a lack of respect for the competition. We had to rotate. We didn’t lose a game, we lost on penalties so we didn’t get the extra point. We want to put that right and progress. It’s a crazy group but we are all going to have to perform well. I am going to see the very best of my players.”
On Phallon Tullis-Joyce…

“She has been great. Some of the saves she makes in training, some of the forwards stop and admire the saves rather than following up for the rebound at times. She has this wonderful athletic ability. She is learning a lot about our game and how we play. The main difference with America is that there is a lot more direct play with your feet. We have more of a build-up strategy. Although she hasn’t played, I see her growing. I feel that she is ready for when she has the opportunity [to play].”
Phallon Tullis-Joyce could be in line for her Reds debut against Everton.
On Everton…

“I don’t expect it be the same sort of game as it was in the league [where United won 5-0]. We expect Everton to rotate and we will be seeing players who are playing substantial minutes. So far I have been really pleased with our performances - we are creating more chances. We saw in the Brighton game that we created way more chances, we just have to finish them and against Everton, we did that. Hopefully we can do that [again]. The way that Everton play is really difficult and I expect that to be the same. It’s going to be a good game. If we want to progress in the competition then we need to win the game.”
