Earps: Bring on the FA Cup final

Dr Mary Earps MBE. It has a good ring to it, doesn't it?

Our newly-honoured goalkeeper is an inspiration to many, and hopes to be one again on Sunday, when Marc Skinner's team lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur under the famous Wembley arch.

Mary was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) at Windsor Castle on Wednesday and, while being thrilled and proud to receive such an honour, the England international admits she can't wait for Sunday's FA Cup final - our second in successive years.

“I'm very prepared for it, very up for it and really looking forward to it,” she said.

“It's only a few days away, so bring it on.

”It'll be the highlight of the season, for sure, by a million miles.“

Earps continues to shape the landscape of women's football positively and admits that, as a Lioness and a United player, she has been taken aback by the recognition she receives.

“I just think that it’s amazing when people want to have a conversation with you and talk about their experience of something that I’ve done, helped them with or inspired in some way.” she said.

“But us, as a group of Lionesses, what we stand for – our values – I think is so strong that it resonates with people.

”That’s a pretty incredible feeling and something that we’ll continue to try and do as a team.“
