Explaining Sunday's cover of United Review

On Sunday, Manchester United will host Aston Villa for the 100th time in our history - with plenty at stake for both clubs.

United Review marks that milestone with an eye-catching front cover, featuring standout match programmes from the fixture’s storied past.

These 99 ‘home’ games were not all played at Old Trafford, by the way.

To clarify, the first was held at North Road, followed by six at Bank Street.

There were also three at Manchester City’s Maine Road, which is where we temporarily played during World War II, due to bomb damage at Old Trafford.

- United have scored in the last 17 Premier League games, since losing 1-0 to Everton in November. We last had a longer scoring streak between November 2012 and April 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson (23).

- Across both spells, Michael Carrick has won all five of his home Premier League games as United head coach. In the club’s history, only Frank O'Farrell, back in 1971, has won each of his first six home league matches in charge of the Reds.

PREDICT THE LINE-UP

- Bruno Fernandes’s goals and assists have been worth 23 points to United this season. In Premier League history, only three players’ goal involvements have been worth more to the Reds in a campaign – Robin van Persie in 2012-13 (38), Eric Cantona in 1993-94 (26) and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2007-08 (25).
