United fans produce Grenfell fire film

Two United fans are the instrumental figures behind a new film about the Grenfell Tower fire, which premiered on Saturday as part of the Manchester Film Festival.

The film is entitled The Firefighter, and is based around a poem written and performed by Ricky Nuttall, who entered the ill-fated building three times on that tragic day in 2017.

The production is part of a project entitled Grenfell Voices, a registered charity, and is a moving exploration of the disaster's traumatic legacy.
Ricky and the film's director, Roy Khalil  both of whom are keen Reds  were in Manchester at the weekend to promote the film, which was shown at the Odeon Great Northern on Saturday at 1pm.

The pair visited Old Trafford as guests of Manchester United on Friday afternoon, and you can hear them speak about the the film and why football has a central role in it by watching their MUTV interview below.
