Malard wins FF Women's Personality of the Year

We’re proud of Manchester United forward Melvine Malard, who has been named the Footballer Fits Women’s Personality of the Year.

Footballer Fits, a platform promoting athlete self-expression on and off the pitch, said: “The Manchester United and France baller has been a leading figure in athlete self-expression across the WSL and beyond in 2025, doing so with a smile on her face throughout.”

Malard, whose infectious character has helped her become a fan favourite since she first joined United in 2023, collected the award at a special awards ceremony in London on Thursday.

“I’m so happy, I live in England just three years now and I’m very proud of me, but also of what everyone in England has given me,”
the French forward said, in her acceptance speech on stage at the Footballer Fits Gala.

Asked where her love of expressing herself comes from, United Women’s no.9 added: “It’s from my friends, my family. My personality, I enjoy the football, I’m a creative person and very positive and I like to put that always in my life.

“Thank you, FF Gala, because this is very good for us,” she continued. “We play football yes of course, but we have also other passions. Passion is fashion.

“I think everyone here is very beautiful and I think everyone here puts something different in your outfits. Guys, continue and thank you very much.”

Among the other winners on the night was Nottingham Forest full-back Ola Aina, who was crowned the Men’s Personality of the Year.
WHEN MEL SALUTED BECKS

Malard loves her fashion and, to celebrate her first FA Cup final with United in 2024, you may remember that she travelled to Wembley Stadium in our iconic 1997-99 white away kit with ‘Beckham 7’ on the back.

“That, for me, is normal because I remember it was the week of the FA Cup final, and I know a lot of legends played here,”
she told the club’s official magazine, Inside United, last season.

“We need inspiration from these players and David Beckham is a legend here. When I put that on, everyone sent me messages and was like: ‘that’s good!’ Also, I like the style – it’s a bit of both.”

Melvine also promised during that mid-season interview that she would sport another classic United jersey if the Reds made it back to the FA Cup final and, true to her word, the forward showed off a replica of the club’s 1996-98 home shirt as our women’s team played in the Wembley showpiece again in May.

“I have [got plans to wear more retro United shirts],” she told Inside United. “They are at my home, but I need the good time to wear it!”

We hope for many more good times, classic shirts and awards for you, Melvine! Congratulations on this success.
