Manchester United fans have grown accustomed to seeing the Reds score from set-pieces this season.
Only leaders Arsenal have been more productive in this area in the 2025/26 Premier League, and it was no surprise when Bruno Fernandes supplied another perfect corner delivery for Casemiro to expertly nod the opening goal in Sunday's 3-1 victory against Aston Villa.
After the game, head coach Michael Carrick explained how Jonny Evans has been helping on the training pitch, in this regard, while Bruno spoke about how Case had instructed him where he wanted the ball to be placed.
In his pre-Bournemouth interview with club media, the boss said: “First of all, it's probably more important than it's ever been. It's always been important and I feel that it has a big impact in games, it feels like a lot more of them are going in.
"It's good that we've had success with it. It's a little bit on the coaching staff, certainly Jonny, with his ideas and how it works with the players. To work with them is important, what suits them and what they like.
“We've got certain players who are proven really, in terms of Bruno's delivery, Case and Harry [Maguire], in the way they attack the ball, as well as others.
"I think it's important it's a kind of mixed decision, if you like, and what works for everyone because they've got to do it.
“Jonny works with that quite closely and we've had good success, so hopefully that continues.”
The Reds bagged our only goal direct from a free-kick this season, in the reverse fixture, courtesy of Fernandes's sublime strike in a pulsating 4-4 draw, so hopefully that bodes well for the 20:00 GMT kick-off.
United have a 24-day break from first-team fixtures, after the Vitality Stadium encounter on Friday night, which should enable the absent players to work on their rehabilitation at Carrington.
“Certainly, I think, for Mason [Mount] to build on being back,”
Carrick added. “Lisandro [Martinez] to come back in and be around it and get back. It gives you that window really. Largely, we've been okay, we just need to stay fit and get stronger.”
