Manchester United Women goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce says both she and her team-mates are more than ready for our European adventure to begin on Wednesday night.
The Reds are set to host Norweigan side Valerenga at the Progress With Unity Stadium, with our UEFA Women's Champions League campaign getting under way.
After navigating through two qualifying rounds and beating three different sides already, Tullis-Joyce says excitement regarding our opponents remains understandably high.
“It's been super fun to see the draw and to follow along and then see who we're playing,”began Phallon when speaking to club media last week.
“I think we're just super excited having made it out of the qualifiers and [we are] just ready to go, getting into even harder games. I think it'll be a really great challenge for us.”
Marc Skinner's side have made an impressive start to the new Barclays WSL campaign and are yet to taste defeat domestically.
Our recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea provides a solid base to head into the fixture against the Toppserien outfit, who still have a chance of silverware in their home country with just a few games remaining of their league campaign.
“I think you could just pick anything from any of those teams [we're facing], it is so, so exciting to me, European football, and just to see different styles, different players of different qualities and calibres,”
added the USWNT international.
“I think it's going to be just an excellent challenge for us. We definitely love a challenge and love being able to adapt to anything that we play against.
”But, right off the bat, I think we've got some really, really cool opponents to play against.“
