Who was Player of the Match v Atleti?

Manchester United Women proceeded to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League with a 5-0 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid, but who was our star performer in the second leg?

After working up a three-goal lead over in the Spanish capital, Marc Skinner's side doubled down back on home turf at the Progress With Unity Stadium, winning the return leg 2-0.

Julia Zigiotti, in unstoppable goalscoring form since the turn of the year, added another to her recent haul, before Jess Park pulled off a show-stopping strike just before half-time to put the tie beyond doubt.

But who stood out in another confident European display? Answers below...

Poll: Player of the Match | Who gets your vote after United Women win v Atleti?

Taking a resounding 68 per cent of the fan vote is, of course, Park, for that spectacular effort to double our lead in the first half.

The 24-year-old was the ultimate recipient of a Maya Le Tissier short corner, via Hinata Miyazawa, and after taking a touch to get it out of her feet, Park unleashed a rocketed right-foot effort that nestled neatly into the top-right corner of Lola Gallardo's goal, leaving the Spaniard rooted to her line.

It was the winger's second European goal this season, and her ninth in all competitions; strong numbers for her debut Reds season, with plenty of the campaign left to run.

And she almost had another on top of that on Thursday evening, crashing a driven strike against the post in the second-half which had the goalkeeper beaten.

Miyazawa, who teed up Park's thunderbolt, came in second place with 13 per cent of the vote for her characteristically calming influence in midfield, proving to be safe on the ball – were any evidence needed – with 85 per cent pass completion.

Millie Turner, making consecutive starts for the first time since the end of last season, topped off her goal and assist against London City Lionesses at the weekend with a fine defensive display, winning the most duels (7) of any player on the pitch, and clocked 12 per cent in poll as a result.

Dominique Janssen rounded off the vote with seven per cent, adding to a fearsome defensive line alongside Turner with five tackles, more than anyone else on the night.

But as the net rippled following Park's superb outside-of-the-box strike, this Player of the Match award was only ever heading in one direction.

Congratulations, Jess! Thank you to everyone who voted.
