Pundit Predictions: Who is going to face Forest?

The long wait is finally over as Manchester United return to action with an away Premier League game at Nottingham Forest.

Ruben Amorim revealed at his pre-match press conference that Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are available for the City Ground contest, boosting his defensive options.

The head coach can also call upon Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, as he served the last of his three-game ban in the 3-0 victory over Leicester City, ahead of the international break.

Mason Mount could make his first appearance of 2025 but the match comes too soon for Luke Shaw.

Chido Obi played in the Under-18s' FA Youth Cup semi-final penalty shootout defeat to Aston Villa on Monday night.

See how we think the Reds will line up, including the thoughts of Treble-winner David May...

WHO FACES FOREST?

DAVID MAY'S PREDICTIONS

United: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Yoro; Mazraoui, Eriksen, Fernandes (c), Dalot; Garnacho, Zirkzee; Hojlund.

Man of the Match: Bruno Fernandes.

Correct score: Forest 1 United 2.

First scorer: Bruno Fernandes.

MUTV pundit David May has sent us his predictions for the 20:00 BST kick-off in the East Midlands.

The former defender feels fellow centre-back Maguire will return to the line-up, as will Yoro. He says Noussair Mazraoui will occupy the right wing-back slot, with Diogo Dalot on the other side.

Christian Eriksen is tipped to make his 100th appearance for the club but Maysie expects reigning United Player of the Month Bruno Fernandes to be the main man and start April with a bang, by opening the scoring and picking up another Man-of-the-Match award, in what would be a brilliant away win.

ADAM MARSHALL'S PREDICTIONS

United: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, De Ligt; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes (c); Dorgu; Garnacho, Zirkzee; Hojlund.

Man of the Match: Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu.

Correct score: Forest 2 United 2.

First scorer: Joshua Zirkzee.

After his impressive work for Morocco on international duty, I think Mazraoui may play as part of the three-man defence, allowing Dorgu to come in on the left. I was very impressed by the Denmark wing-back's showing in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League tie with Portugal and feel he can continue to produce a high-octane output.

With Forest entering this game on the back of a draining Emirates FA Cup semi-final success against Brighton & Hove Albion, such effervescence and energy may prove to be telling.

Manuel Ugarte had to deal with playing at high altitude for Uruguay so he may not start but hopefully it has been a long enough gap since their World Cup qualifier in Bolivia.

I'd stress it's important to remember Forest are third in the table and I reckon an entertaining draw could be on the cards.

Poll: Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are back tonight but who gets into the XI?

HARRY ROBINSON'S PREDICTIONS

United: Onana; Maguire, De Ligt, Yoro; Dalot, Casemiro, Ugarte, Dorgu; Fernandes (c); Garnacho, Hojlund.

Man of the Match: Alejandro Garnacho.

Correct score: Forest 1 United 2.

First scorer: Bruno Fernandes.

Alejandro Garnacho should be chomping at the bit having not been with Argentina during the international break. He was showing good form prior to the pause and I'm backing him to have an impact at The City Ground. His directness and intensity could suit an opponent like this, who have similar players in their attack.

Both teams will look to assert some control, but surely this match will become end-to-end at some point, and we know Garna can have a huge impact in those moments. Elsewhere, I think Dorgu will come straight back in following his league suspension, and his Danish compatriot Rasmus Hojlund will get the nod up top after netting another on international duty.
