Rachel Williams has signed a contract extension with Manchester United to remain with the women’s first team until 2026.
Our no. 28 joined the Reds in July 2022 and has made 79 appearances scoring 21 goals, including an important goal against Chelsea to put us through to the Women’s Adobe FA Cup final, which we went on to win in the 2023/24 season.
Lauded as a super-sub, Williams has come off the bench to make an impact on a number of occasions, including scoring two late goals against West Brom last season.
Rachel has shown her goalscoring prowess with United.
Rachel Williams said: “I am delighted to be continuing at Manchester United.
“The growth we have seen over the last few years has been great to be a part of and I look forward to lending my experience to this exciting squad and continuing to play my part in the squad.”
Director of women’s football, Matt Johnson, said: “We have a young, exciting squad which needs to be balanced with experience and leadership.
“Rachel makes a significant impact, on and off the pitch, and embodies the squad’s togetherness and hard-working spirit.”
