Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has insisted his players are fully aware of the threat Tottenham Hotspur pose ahead of our crucial Premier League clash this Saturday evening (kick-off 17:30 GMT).
The Reds ran out 3-0 winners in the capital back in October, when our away supporters enjoyed a superb maiden visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford all netting in the victory.
But with Tottenham also one of our many direct rivals bidding to finish in the Champions League qualification positions this campaign, Rangnick believes his side are firmly aware of the challenges Conte’s men will provide this weekend.
“[They play] with a back three and it is a very compact shape,”
began Ralf, in the second part of his Friday media briefing.
”They are probably one of the best teams in transitional moments with Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane.
“This is what we have to be aware of and prepared for, to not give them those transitional moments. But at the same time they also lost against teams like Middlesbrough, Wolves and Burnley. It’s not a team who, if we play at the best possible level, it’s not impossible to beat them. In all respect if Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wolverhampton can beat them, we can also beat them in our own stadium and this is what we have to do, this is our job tomorrow.“
”
Our interim manager's decisions, when assessing the best line-up to take on Tottenham's system, will include who to select at right-back.
“Diogo [Dalot] has been training well this week and we have almost two players, two opponents for each position, two players who can play in that position. With us having a couple of games coming up, one tomorrow and one on Tuesday of course it is an option to play with Diogo in one of those games.“
