Amorim: What Sesko will give us

Ruben Amorim has outlined some of the qualities that Benjamin Sesko will bring to Manchester United.

The Slovenia international striker sealed his move from RB Leipzig in time to be presented to the Old Trafford faithful, ahead of kick-off in the Snapdragon Cup against Fiorentina.

Director of football Jason Wilcox described the centre-forward as “one of the most exceptional young talents in world football”, and the head coach agrees that Sesko's potential is huge.

In the exclusive interview with MUTV, Ruben also made a point of mentioning his new man's work ethic and desire.

“He has the characteristics that we needed,” Amorim told MUTV's Liam Bradford. “Ben is a player - with all the information that we have - that we need to stop the guy from working, not the opposite!

”So that is also important. He's really young. He's good in the air, he's good at running the channels, good on the ball. I think he has great potential. I think he can improve a lot and, for sure, he is going to feel at home in our club.

“He has the right character to be in this group, so I'm really happy to have him.”

When it was suggested Sesko was coming into a group fully focused and prepared for the upcoming campaign, which starts against Arsenal next weekend, the boss was in little doubt about how his latest capture will settle in.

“That is important,” he declared. “He is going to notice, since the first day and first training, that he is in the right place.

”He is going to a new building [at Carrington], that is also important. Things are getting better but, in the end, we need to win games.“
