Sir Jim Ratcliffe met fan representatives and local community leaders in Manchester on Monday, a day after attending United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The INEOS chairman, who sat beside Sir Alex Ferguson in the director’s box on Sunday, was watching his first United game since announcing his planned investment in the club on Christmas Eve.
While that deal is still subject to regulatory approval, Sir Jim has lost no time in getting to know the club during a series of meetings at Old Trafford and Carrington in recent days.
Later, he met a range of local civic leaders from Trafford and Greater Manchester to discuss United’s role in the local community and the potential redevelopment of Old Trafford.
