Marc Skinner has provided the latest on his Manchester United Women squad ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford.
Previewing the blockbuster battle at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Skinner told journalists at Carrington that he has near enough a full squad available for selection.
An ongoing back injury will keep winger Celin Bizet Donnum out of the reunion with her old club however, while defender Millie Turner is a long-term absentee as she recovers from a knee problem.
It remains to be seen who is likely to partner captain Maya Le Tissier at centre-back, with Turner out and Dominique Janssen serving a one-match suspension for the red card she was shown in our last European fixture.
Janssen, who still trained with her team-mates this (Tuesday) morning, has been paired with Le Tissier in each of the team's last nine outings and every game that Turner hasn't started so far this term.
“Celin's still out with a back injury. We have Dom missing through suspension and Millie is still progressing nicely, but missing,”
Marc told journalists, sat alongside a two-time Champions League-winning member of his squad, in Fridolina Rolfo.
“Apart from that, everyone else is available.”
One player that could come up against Skinner's side on Wednesday is ex-United goalkeeper Mary Earps, who was a primary topic of questions posed by reporters at the media briefing.
Earps, a key member of the Reds team that won the FA Cup in 2024 before joining Paris later that year, made over a century of appearances across five seasons here, and may face her old colleagues for the first time this week.
“When Mary was here, she was a fantastic ambassador for the club, a fantastic player,”
Skinner added on Earps. “You have to pay credit to the quality she had and what she gave to us at that moment. She was part of the FA Cup-winning team. I'll say nothing but good things.
“The thing is, we move forwards. Phallon [Tullis-Joyce] is an incredible goalkeeper. We were lucky enough to have her to replace another fantastic goalkeeper.
”From our perspective, we'll welcome her as someone who is on the opponents' team in this game, but also always pay tribute to what she did at Manchester United. I know Mary's a good person, I look forward to the challenge of trying to beat her and her team.“
Wednesday’s visitors have named a 27-player squad for the trip to Old Trafford, featuring former United goalkeeper Earps and midfielder Jackie Groenen.
Romee Leuchter, this season’s leading scorer in the French top flight, is also in the travelling party set to train at Old Trafford later today.
The group doesn’t include defender Paulina Dudek, who suffered a fracture in her right foot at a training session earlier in the campaign and has since had surgery.
