Solskjaer makes four changes for Cherries game

Manchester United’s caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made four changes from his Boxing Day line-up as the Reds take on Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

As Solskjaer looks to make it three Premier League wins in succession at the start of his temporary United reign, the Norwegian has brought back Anthony Martial into the Reds' attack following the Frenchman’s illness over Christmas.

Martial scored in the first game after Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho, the 5-1 win at Cardiff City in Wales, but the forward had to be ruled out of the Boxing Day game against Huddersfield at Old Trafford.

Martial scored against Cardiff but missed the subsequent win over Huddersfield.

Ashley Young came on as a sub in that 3-1 win against the Terriers, replacing Diogo Dalot, and he gets the nod ahead of the Portuguese teenager at right-back. Eric Bailly starts in the centre of defence for the first time under the new caretaker boss, after being an unused sub against Cardiff and Huddersfield.

Ander Herrera, who came on for Fred in the second half against Huddersfield, is selected in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.

Dalot, Phil Jones, Fred and Juan Mata are the players to make way as the Reds look to sign off 2018 in style with another victory against Eddie Howe's Cherries.

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is back in the matchday squad after being granted time off during Solskjaer's first week and he takes a place on the subs' bench.

United: De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Rashford.

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Jones, Fellaini, A Pereira, Mata, Lukaku.

Bournemouth: Begovic; Rico, Cook, Ake, Daniels; Ibe, Brooks, Surman, Stanislas; King, Wilson.

Subs: Boruc, Mings, Simpson, Lerma, Fraser, Mousset, Defoe.
