Tickets now on sale for Cadiz v United

We can confirm that tickets are now on general sale for Manchester United’s friendly against Cadiz during the World Cup winter break.

Our match against the Spanish side is set to take place on Wednesday 7 December at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla in Spain, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

The fixture was announced on Monday afternoon and pre-sale tickets were initially available to Season Ticket Holders, Official Members and Executive Club Members for a period of 24 hours.

Tickets are now available to all United supporters and the occasion represents a fantastic opportunity to watch Erik ten Hag’s squad in action for the first time in almost a month.

The Reds have four matches to play before the World Cup and the last of those - against Fulham - falls on Sunday 13 November. Domestic football will then be put on hold as Qatar 2022 gets started.

Interestingly, and quite handily, our match falls on one of the tournament’s rest days, so there won’t be a clash of matches and all eyes can be on United.

THE MANAGER’S MINDSET

When speaking to club reporter Adam Marshall about our plans for the winter break, Ten Hag looked forward to the prospect of working with his players who won’t be at the World Cup.

“It’s a strange season,”
said Erik. “It’s not like usual as we have a World Cup but also players will stay behind. We have to train them during those six weeks and we have to give them the right programme so they stay in the right fitness levels, but also they stay in the right shape and also in the team style.

Ten Hag's plans for the World Cup break

“We made a programme to do that, as optimum as possible. So, we will train here [at Carrington] for one week, or eight or nine days, and then we will have a short break. Then we will train and go to Spain for a training camp for one week.

“There, we can train proper. We have good opponents over there so we can get the game practice in as well. Then we will return, ready for the second stage of the season, I would say, but a long stage, longer than usual.”
