Under-18s match report: United 6 West Brom 1

Manchester United's Under-18s produced a powerful performance to sweep aside West Bromwich Albion 6-1 at the Aon Training Complex on Saturday.

The young Reds were in the driving seat after just 15 minutes, by which time Mason Greenwood had scored both of his goals beginning with a superb solo effort.

Nishan Burkart put his name on the scoresheet just after the half-hour mark before an own goal by Harry Williams, from a Greenwood cross, ensured the hosts went into the half-time break with a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Aidan Barlow weighed in with United's fifth strike in the 56th minute after a great pass by James Garner but the Reds' scoring spree was paused until Arnau Puigmal netted in injury time, his goal making it 6-1 after Finn Azaz had pulled back a late consolation for the Baggies.

United: Kovar; Tanner, B. Williams, Dunne, Laird; Garner, Puigmal, Levitt (McGhee 60); Burkart (Bernard 75), Greenwood (Mellor 60), Barlow. Substitutes not used: Fojtíček, McCann.
