What do Soccer Aid's stars think of our new kit?

It's Soccer Aid weekend at Old Trafford, with the annual charity event set to kick-off in M16 at 19:30 BST on Sunday evening.

Huge names from the football, sporting, acting and music worlds are set to grace our esteemed home in the aid of raising vital funds for UNICEF.

Prior to the game, MUTV's very own Mark Sullivan popped down to see some of them earlier this week, tasked with getting their thoughts on our brand new adidas home kit for the 2025/26 campaign.

Here's what they said...

What do United's celebrities think?video

ANGRY GINGE

We spoke to YouTube and streaming sensation Angry Ginge first of all, with the United superfan ecstatic to have been gifted his very own new shirt.

“I like the new pattern on the sleeves, I think it just adds a little bit,” began the online superstar.

“It has kind of stayed the same on the front which I like, [there is] no need to overcomplicate it. I like the classic adidas lines. It's very nice.

Asked about the 'Theatre of Dreams' detail on the back of the shirt, the 22-year-old added: ”Ooh I didn't know that. Yeah I like that and I like the collar as well.“

JOHN O'SHEA

Having won pretty much everything there was to win during his successful Old Trafford career, the ex-Republic of Ireland international will be in action on Sunday as part of the Rest of the World XI.

Sheasy was loving our newest release when it was presented to him with O'Shea and his old number 22 on the back, stating: “Listen, this is incredible. I appreciate this, Sully.

When you see the simplicity to it, it's an absolute classic home kit. As I said, lots of amazing memories and I am sure lots more amazing memories to come. It's a nice kit.

“Of course you did,” responded the former Reds defender, when asked if he enjoyed pulling on a new shirt each season.

“There was one or two I am sure you remember over the years, interesting and different ones, but I think when you see that one, it is superb and it's just a classy one.

”You just did [enjoy getting a new kit], at the start of the season that [gives you] hope and positivity that the club really needs to kick on and to have a reaction from last season, that's the key bit.“

PETER SCHMEICHEL

One of United's greatest-ever goalkeepers certainly wore one or two iconic jerseys across the years, none more so than when he lifted the 1999 UEFA Champions League on that famous night.

Speaking whilst holding our fresh adidas home kit, the Dane said: “First of all I really like the colour. We have had shirts along the way where there has been a black shadowing.

I like the colour, but I would have preferred, in my opinion, white stripes [along the sleeves]. But that's just me. It looks good.“

Did you notice the change?

TOM GRENNAN

Music star Tom Grennan, who also happens to be a huge Red, goes under the radar each year with his footballing skills and he was impressed with our sleek home shirt too.

“It looks amazing,” began Grennan. “I love that it has kind of gone a little bit old school, with the new school. I love this down here, the trimming. I love the three stripes.

”Theatre of Dreams at the back, everything is amazing with it. It looks great and I was gonna say is that Old Trafford [represented on the sleeves]? Lovely.“
