Wan-Bissaka available for Atalanta

Manchester United's appeal to UEFA over Aaron Wan-Bissaka's two-match European suspension has been successful.

The right-back was sent off during the first half of the 2-1 defeat to Young Boys in our opening Champions League fixture in September.

The suspension was set at two games due to "rough play", after Aaron caught defender Christopher Martins Pereira during the Group F clash.

United contested the decision and a UEFA statement reads:

"The appeal lodged by Manchester United has been upheld. Consequently, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body’s decision of 23 September 2021 is amended as follows:

"'To suspend Manchester United player, Mr. Aaron Wan‐Bissaka, for the next one (1) UEFA club competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible, for rough play.'"

As the defender has already missed the thrilling 2-1 victory over Villarreal at Old Trafford, it means he will now be available for selection in Wednesday's home game with Serie A side Atalanta.
