Wan-Bissaka: Why I voted for Luke Shaw
Aaron Wan-Bissaka says he's been inspired by fellow full-back Luke Shaw after the left-back's stellar displays earned him the 2020/21 Players' Player of the Year award and a place in England's Euro 2020 squad.
Wan-Bissaka reflected on his own campaign during a recent interview before the climax of the season and he also took time to praise the exploits of Shaw.
“He’s been positive throughout, making the most out of every game. He’s not taken his foot off the pedal, he’s kept going, pushed himself until the whistle goes. That’s good. He helps the team as well.”
Assessing his own displays, Wan-Bissaka explained: “Every game, every step, that’s how I take it, to improve and push myself throughout.
“I feel I've done okay. I can feel it in myself, the confidence and excitement of when every game comes up. You want to play, you can’t wait to get the game started. You know what the team’s capable of, the performances we can all put together to get the result we want.”
“My goal was a good feeling. I’ll never forget that. That’s the good moment out of this campaign, for me.”Discussing the team's progress, Aaron added: “If you look at it from the last season, then we’re obviously finishing higher than third which is a good sign going forward. Now, it’s just the next step, next season.”
