Aaron Wan-Bissaka says Manchester United are determined to succeed in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest and reach the final at Wembley.

The right-back has been in superb form of late – being nominated for our Player of the Month award for January – and spoke to our matchday programme, United Review, ahead of the visit of Steve Cooper’s side tonight (Wednesday).

United hold a three-goal advantage after a scintillating first leg, and Aaron says the primary focus for the Reds is to make another step towards silverware.

There is an extended shortlist for January's prize after a busy month for Erik's Reds.

“I think everyone’s hungry to bring success back to the club and that’s the aim in these cup runs,” he said.

“It would be a great achievement [to reach Wembley]. A step closer to the trophy.

“That’s what we’re all working towards, and we know it could be an important moment for this team if we do get there.”

Despite having a healthy lead in the tie, the right-back says that United are still striving to develop further and will continue to do so.

“You can see the improvement and different style of play [this season],” he said.

“[There is] confidence going forward, so it’s going in a good direction.

“We’re all happy but there is still improvements to come, and we know we’re still not where we want to be.”

The second leg of the semi-final is at Old Trafford, and with Forest expected to throw everything at getting back into the tie, Wan-Bissaka says the roar of the home crowd will be as important as ever.

“At home it’s always important,” he explained. “There’s an advantage for us because we have our fans by our side to get us through.

“We’re confident, very confident at home in front of our fans, so that’s something we’re looking at.

“We’ve played well at Old Trafford this season and we want that to continue. We know the fans will be behind us from start to finish and we’ll give everything to send them away happy.”
