Wan-Bissaka: We need to finish strong

Sunday 21 May 2023 07:00

Aaron Wan-Bissaka hopes Manchester United's victory at Bournemouth can provide a positive springboard for a productive end to our Premier League campaign.

Casemiro's first-half strike was enough to ensure all three points on the south coast, with the Reds now just needing just one point to secure our qualification for next season's Champions League - following Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

With Chelsea and Fulham still to visit Old Trafford this term - before our FA Cup final against with Manchester City on 3 June - Erik ten Hag's side will hope to see off the 2022/23 campaign in style in front of the United faithful.

Speaking to MUTV after our win over Bournemouth, Aaron insisted full focus is on our final two games at the Theatre of Dreams.

Aaron praises his developing connection with Antony down the right-hand side, following our victory over Bournemouth...

"We've still got two more games to go and you that's the way how we want to finish," began the right-back.

"We need to finish strong and take the three points with the last two games left.

"We've got to take every game step by step and after today, my confidence is up. We have faith in the team and we hope to do it again on Thursday."
Having also started to develop quite the partnership with Antony down the right-hand side, Aaron's lung-busting runs were more evident than ever in Dorset on Sunday.

Quizzed on his relationship with our Brazilian winger, our no.29 says he enjoys sharing the pitch with the former Ajax man.

A professional display on the south coast enables the Reds to pick up all three Premier League points away from home.

"Yeah, definitely. You know, the partnership is growing and there's a lot more to come from it now," added Aaron.

"It's part of it [the game] and always having to balance it as well, both up the pitch and at the back too."

Praising Casemiro's influence in the team once more, Wan-Bissaka explained crucial our no.18's goal was in helping the Reds pick up three vital points.

"He's capable of all things you know so obviously that just proves it. That was a good goal and we needed that today."
