Wan-Bissaka: We need to stick together

Saturday 13 May 2023 08:59

Aaron Wan-Bissaka believes Manchester United must 'stick together', despite our recent blip in form, as we prepare to host Wolves in the Premier League later today.

The Reds return to action against Julen Lopetegui's side at Old Trafford (15:00 BST), following a rare recent midweek hiatus – the team's first since the winter World Cup in Qatar.

Having suffered recent defeats against Brighton and West Ham away from home, Ten Hag and co will be looking to continue an impressive home record in M16 this season. United have not lost at the Theatre of Dreams since September 2022.

Aaron insists the challenge of battling for Champions League football – with so many teams still in the hunt, even at this late stage of the season – is one the squad relishes.

Wan-Bissaka: We're going in the right direction

Aaron Wan-Bissaka speaks to PLP about our top-four hopes and receiving advice from Erik ten Hag...

"Yeah, it’s never easy,'' began our no.29, when quizzed on the demands of England's top flight.

''No team in the Premier League is easy to play against, but, for us, we just need to stick together and keep the right mindset going forward.

''I think we’re heading in the right direction, but we just need to take each game step-by-step to reach our goal, which is finishing in the top four."
United's home games this season have seen many of our players excel, with Marcus Rashford having already netted an impressive 19 times at Old Trafford.

Casemiro is another who has continued to shine. And Aaron went on to praise the influence our Brazilian enforcer has had on the squad during his maiden season.

As our list of games shows, United have never lost when our nos 8, 14 and 18 have started together.

''Since he came in he’s made players around him feel comfortable,'' echoed Aaron.

''He’s got the experience of winning trophies and is someone who you want to impress [as a team-mate].

''He’s someone who has encouraged me to keep going, to keep improving and keep doing what I’m doing.''
