Keep up to date with the United Academy

The Manchester United Academy is among the most prestigious in the world.

We boast an 85-year record of having an Academy graduate involved in every first-team matchday squad, and aim to continue that trend for the generations still to come.

Now, you can follow the progress our current crop are making closer than ever, as well as reading all about stories from our previous graduates, getting to know our staff, and more.

Our Academy section has been revamped, bringing you regular updates on what is happening on and off the pitch at Carrington, as well as offering an insight into the impact we have on players in a football sense but also in helping develop them as people.

You can read about the journeys of MUTV pundits Joe Thompson and Wes Brown, for example, as well as hearing about success stories from other past players.

Those who come from the United Academy have also achieved brilliant things off the pitch too, with Danny Galbraith and Dan Polakowski being perfect examples of that, with their respective careers in finance and academia.

See more of what we do and the impact it has, by going to our 'Tales of Academy life' page. Here you will be able to access videos and podcasts which show what life as a Manchester United Academy player is really like. From inspiring events such as 'A United Celebration,' to podcasts with United legends such as Paul Scholes, find out about the support and guidance our young players receive and the amazing opportunities they receive.

In order to have the desired impact, our staff are pivotal. Our in-depth staff page outlines the roles and responsibilities of those who coach and develop our young players, with each person possessing the same innate drive to promote individual development both on and off the pitch.

Nurturing young players remains our priority, whether that be helping them to perform better on the pitch or in the classroom. Follow their journeys, and continue to be inspired by the remarkable journeys the young Reds go on, by keeping up to date with the Academy through our dedicated pages on ManUtd.com.

Omari Forson is in the running for February’s Player of the Month.

Following the launch of our new online hub, Nick Cox, Director of the Academy, said:

"Youth development has a significant part to play in our club's history and as a result, our fans have a unique interest in our Academy and young players. This is one of the things that makes our club so special. It is therefore really important that our supporters have up-to-date, high quality coverage available to them throughout each season.

"The story of Manchester United is one of the greatest sporting stories ever told; our youth development programme has been at the heart of our darkest days and greatest successes. The new online hub will ensure that the history of youth development at United is clearly documented for everyone to access.

"For our young players and potential new players, it is inspirational for them to see what has come before them, and the hub will allow young people to aspire to follow in the footsteps of great players who shared the same dream as them.

"While we are keen to keep players and supporters updated on what goes on inside the Academy there will naturally be some things we don’t share, on the basis that we have a duty of care to protect young people and keep them safe and also protect them from the inevitable spotlight that will be upon them as they reach the latter stages of their Academy journey."
