Sharp-eyed Manchester United supporters will spot several of their favourite players wearing a brand new adidas boot in the exciting 2024/25 season ahead.

The F50 is one of football's most beloved boots and the 20th anniversary of its debut is being celebrated by today's release of three new iterations.

Each one is engineered for game-changing speed, which is something eight United players could use to their advantage in the upcoming campaign.

From the men's team Amad, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be wearing the F50; in our women's squad, it will be donned by Gemma Evans, Leah Galton, Gabby George and Millie Turner.

The new F50 has a soleplate designed for optimised stability and traction.

All three models – the F50 Elite Laced, F50 Elite Laceless, and F50 Mid W Elite – feature Sprintframe 360, a soleplate designed for optimised stability and traction. The heel counter works seamlessly with a stud configuration of rounded and bladed studs to ensure foot steadiness at push-off, facilitating multidirectional speed and acceleration.

Each silhouette also showcases a Fibertouch Upper – a lightweight synthetic material that offers a moulded fit for support and additional cushioning. This is complemented by Sprintweb technology, a 3D texture applied to the primary ball contact areas for enhanced control when dribbling at speed.

The laced version features a compression-fit tunnel tongue with strategically placed reinforcements for additional stability and an enhanced fit in the forefoot and midfoot. The laceless model incorporates a collar made from Primeknit material, which moulds to the shape of the wearer’s foot for maximum comfort.

The F50 Mid W Elite is optimised for a woman’s foot. The ultra-soft Primeknit Midcut Collar offers an adaptive fit around the ankle for stability and comfort. Additionally, a supplementary sock liner has been applied to the upper region to stabilise foot movement within the boot by providing optimal arch support, delivering a modified fit for all levels of women's football.

The predominantly white silhouette represents the lightweight nature of the boot, with solar red and lucid blue detailing on the medial and lateral sides, creating a flash-like effect as players speed by.

Players like Luke Shaw and Leah Galton are set to benefit from these boots in 2024/25.

The new F50 signifies the revival of a beloved boot at a time when the game has reached unprecedented speeds. Engineered to help players everywhere unleash game-breaking velocity and dominate the field on their own terms, the new F50 is poised to redefine speed in football.

All three models of the F50 are available for purchase from today, online via adidas football shoes and selected adidas stores and retailers.
