Can Telles play against United in Europe?

Alex Telles is in line to play against parent club Manchester United when Erik ten Hag's side face Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-finals.

We can confirm the on-loan defender will be eligible to face the Reds in the two-legged tie, with the first game taking place at Old Trafford on 13 April, as United look to avenge the Champions League exit to the Spanish side in 2018, and set up a semi-final with Juventus or Sporting.

Telles has played 29 times under three different managers for the Andalusians this season, with Jose Luis Mendilibar replacing Jorge Sampaoli in the hotseat last month.

Current Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui was in charge until October but paid the price for a poor start to the season which Sevilla haven't recovered from. They currently sit a lowly 13th in La Liga, just five points clear of the drop zone.

Brazil international Alex Telles's World Cup ended in tears.

Telles is set to emulate another United defender, who performed against us in the 2020/21 Europa League. Diogo Dalot came off the bench for Milan in Italy after starting at the Theatre of Dreams, as we beat the Serie A side 2-1 on aggregate. Telles was in our team for the first leg of that last-16 tie.

Telles played for Brazil last month, in an international friendly against Morocco in Tangier.

The left-back was injured during the World Cup finals, suffering knee-ligament damage against Cameroon, and was forced to withdraw from the tournament.

However, the 30-year-old won his 11th cap during the 2-1 defeat to the surprise packages from the tournament in Qatar.
