Was this Onana's Save of the Season?
Altay Bayinder has given his opinion on which of Andre Onana's saves was the best over the course of the season.
The Turkey international is perfectly placed to give his view, fully understanding what goes into each and every stop a keeper has to make.
There were, of course, many to choose from as Andre saved more shots than any of his peers in the Premier League, Opta stats showing the total of 149 was four more than Luton Town's Thomas Kaminski.
Onana did keep nine clean sheets, though, and can be pleased with his debut campaign in England.
Bayindir had little hesitation when offering his choice for his team-mate's top stop of 2023/24.
"If we talk about Andre, he made a lot of saves," Altay told club media recently. "I can say his best save was in a home game against Manchester City.
"He did one save in the second half, when the ball came in from Erling Haaland. He jumped and parried the ball. This was a great save.
"He had a lot of saves but, yeah, this was a very good save from Haaland."
The athletic reflex stop came in the 49th minute of a difficult derby contest for the Reds. Despite the heroics, the Blues still won 3-0 at Old Trafford in October, en route to clinching a fourth Premier League title in a row.
However, Onana played his part in the Emirates FA Cup final victory over Pep Guardiola's men to ensure we ended the campaign with a trophy, and earned qualification into the Europa League.
