United v Chelsea: Alternative date announced

Thursday 14 April 2022 18:15

Manchester United's home Premier League fixture against Chelsea has been given a back-up date - in case the West London club win their Emirates FA Cup semi-final this weekend.

Thomas Tuchel's side face Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday afternoon at 16:30 BST and if they're triumphant, they will return to the national stadium for the final on Saturday 14 May - the day before they were due to visit Old Trafford.
United v Chelsea would then be brought forward by more than two weeks, to Thursday 28 April and kick off at 19:45 BST for live coverage on Sky Sports.
Should that happen, it would mean the Reds' game against Brentford - already scheduled for Monday 2 May at 20:00 BST - would become our final home fixture of this season.

The campaign would then close with back-to-back away trips, to Brighton on Saturday 7 May (17:30 BST) and Crystal Palace on Sunday 22 May (16:00 BST).

If Chelsea lose the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, their visit to Old Trafford will go ahead on Sunday 15 May. The kick-off time is still to be confirmed.
