Manchester United new boy Amad made his senior debut for the club in the closing stages of the 4-0 win against Real Sociedad.

The exciting winger came off the bench in Turin with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side already three goals up, thanks to a brace from Bruno Fernandes and a Marcus Rashford effort.

With seven minutes remaining, the former Atalanta man saw some action on his return to Italy by replacing Mason Greenwood with seven minutes to go, as part of a double change with Fernandes coming off for Juan Mata.

Amad showed glimpses of his obvious talent and skill from the left-hand side and was clearly keen to make his mark.

The teenager, who played in the Champions League earlier this season against Midtjylland, certainly did not look overawed as he looked to get involved and was in the middle when Daniel James opted to go it alone by steering in a late fourth goal.

According to stats, Amad completed all three of his dribbles and no forward managed more throughout the entire game.

After a couple of outstanding performances for the Under-23s in Premier League 2, Amad travelled with the squad to Turin and Ole decided to hand him his debut to help continue his integration into life with the Reds.

Fellow youngster Shola Shoretire, only 17, was also on the bench but will wait a little longer before making his senior bow.

Lift off! Amad showed flashes of his ability in a short outing as sub.
When asked about Amad in his post-match interview, Ole told BT Sport: “He’s getting closer and closer to getting his minutes, by the day.

"That’s why we felt, when we had the 3-0 lead, we'd let him go out and get his first 10 minutes for the club.”

In his press conference, the United boss added: "We’ll make a decision on [Amad playing next Thursday] after Newcastle but he’s had a couple of games in the Reserves and we’ll take it lightly.

"There are still a few players that were on the bench tonight who will want to start. Amad is getting closer and we’ll see how much game-time he’ll get."
