Amad wins Goal of the Season
Amad is the winner of Manchester United’s 2024/25 Goal of the Season award, presented by Tezos.
The Ivorian finished top of the public poll, with more of you voting for his clinching effort in December’s Manchester derby than any of the other nine nominated strikes.
Our no.16 showed great composure to control a raking pass from Lisandro Martinez, before edging past City goalkeeper Ederson and rolling the ball into the net from a tight angle.
It completed a late turnaround for the Reds, who trailed at the Etihad Stadium but were galvanised by Bruno Fernandes’s 88th-minute equaliser from the spot, earned by Amad when he was fouled by Matheus Nunes.

The goal provided a clear high in an otherwise disappointing Premier League campaign and it’s good to see Amad recognised, as he has been one of United’s standout performers this term.
The City strike is one of 10 he has registered across 40 games in all competitions, to go with the nine assists he has also supplied.
Amad is the 15th winner of the award since it was established in 2005/06 as he succeeds team-mate Alejandro Garnacho.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are the only repeat winners, each coming first on three occasions.
Mason Mount finished second in the poll, with his long-ranger against Athletic Club the most recent goal in our shortlist.
Third place went to Kobbie Mainoo, for his magnificent late equaliser against Lyon during the Europa League quarter-final second leg.
Well done, Amad – hopefully you’ll become a regular presence in competing for this award in future years!
