Why Elanga posted these pictures

It was a memorable night for Anthony Elanga at the Brentford Community Stadium on Wednesday.

Not only did he score his second senior goal, a header like his first (at Wolves on the final day of last season), which set Manchester United on our way to a welcome 3-1 victory in the capital, but he was also able to share a couple of special pictures afterwards.

This is because Pontus Jansson, the Bees captain, is somebody whom Anthony knows from the past.

A young Anthony joins in the celebrations with the Malmo side in 2010.

The electric wide man's fellow Swede is, in fact, a former team-mate of Elanga's father Joseph, from their time together at Malmo.

Anthony even posted a classic photograph on Instagram of him as a young kid with the pair, celebrating a league title win in 2010, when head coach Roland Nilsson's team beat Helsingborgs by two points to lift the trophy.

Bringing things up to date, the United Academy graduate posed for a shot with Jansson and the defender's Bees shirt from our first visit to Brentford's new stadium.

Joseph Elanga had two spells at Malmo - returning in 2010 after a five-year stint at the start of the century, which is when Jansson was a colleague.

The defender earned 17 caps for Cameroon and was part of their squad that participated in the 1998 World Cup finals in France.

Anthony, of course, represents Sweden at Under-21 level and is pushing for a call-up into the senior squad.
