Elanga: I live for moments like that
Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga has labelled our 4-2 victory over Leeds at Elland Road as an “amazing experience” and says he’s hungry for more days like that going forward in his Reds career.
The 19-year-old came off the bench to help Ralf Rangnick’s side claim an important three points over our Yorkshire rivals on Sunday, scoring our fourth and final goal to make sure of the win in the closing stages.
Anthony is no stranger to what the fixture means to the club having come through the Academy, and, therefore, he relished his first taste of it at senior level, over the weekend.
“It was an amazing experience playing against Leeds,” he told club media in an exclusive interview.

Sublime work from Bruno invited Anthony Elanga to make the points safe in the final minutes...
“We all know what they’re about and what it means to the club. To score and to celebrate with the whole team showed that togetherness and spirit.
“Obviously, we had a win before that game [against Brighton] and to get another win was really good to build momentum and we’ve got to keep that going now.”

The young forward came off the bench alongside Fred as part of a double substitution in the 66th minute that would go on to prove pivotal in the match.
With the score at 2-2, Fred put United back in front shortly after that change, before Elanga completed the scoring with just over a minute left on the clock. It was an impact that the Swede was, of course, delighted to make for the team.
“It felt good," he added, when asked to sum up his emotions upon finding the net.
“Before me and Fred came on, it was two-all, so to come on and impact the game the way we did was special.
“And to get the goal to make it 4-2 felt so good and celebrating with the fans was amazing.”

The Debate | Terry Gibson explains why Diego Simeone’s side may go back to basics + there’s more Leeds reaction…
Having slipped the ball through the legs of Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier and into the net, our no.36 ran over to the section of the stadium that contained our travelling support to celebrate his third senior goal – and second of this season – with them.
It’s already a moment that Anthony cherishes, and the kind that he has outlined his desire to replicate as much as possible in the weeks, months and years ahead.
“I felt amazing when I scored and hearing them chanting my song," he smiled.
“That made it very special.
“I live for moments like this, I want to experience more, score more goals and just keep going.”
