Saturday 17 June 2023 10:30

Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga came off the bench to score for Sweden on Friday evening, netting his nation's final goal in a 4-1 friendly win over New Zealand.

The Reds forward was brought on with 30 minutes left to play in Stockholm - when the score was 3-1 - after Jesper Karlsson (two) and Robin Quaison had helped The Blue and Yellow (Blagult) establish a two-goal advantage.

Elanga then made a late impact, racing onto a through ball to smash home past New Zealand goalkeeper Oliver Sail, scoring his third senior international goal in the process.

Victor Lindelof, Anthony's team-mate for club and country, was not involved but did watch on from the Friends Arena.

Luke was withdrawn on the hour mark, the same time Marcus was introduced, with both players performing well, as strikes from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Kane, Callum Wilson and a Ferdinando Apap own goal made sure of the victory.

The Three Lions remain top of Group C after three wins from three and take on North Macedonia at Old Trafford on Monday evening (19:45 BST).
