Boss issues Antony injury update

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hopes Antony will be available for next weekend's Emirates FA Cup final.

The Brazil international was taken off on a stretcher during the first half of Thursday night's 4-1 win over Chelsea, which clinched a place in the Champions League for the Reds.

Despite missing today's match, with Fulham, the winger has not been ruled out of the first all-Manchester cup final, against City next Saturday (15:00 BST kick-off).

It is fabulous news for United and the player, particularly as the manager described the injury as looking serious, with the wide man in some pain when leaving the pitch.

There were reports of an ankle problem but the manager has issued a very positive bulletin.

"We have all seen he came out last Thursday, so it's quite soon, but we think it's not too bad," Erik told the BBC in his pre-match interview at Old Trafford. "He probably will be available for the cup final next week."

And, in his chat with MUTV, Ten Hag added: "We've all seen how he came off and it didn't look great but the first assessment is not too bad, there is a good opportunity he is available for the cup final next week."

Antony was spotted arriving at Old Trafford to cheer on his team-mates.

Luke Shaw, withdrawn at half-time against Chelsea, was fit enough to start on the bench against Fulham.

The manager made six changes, in all, to his XI for the home finale.

United: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia; Casemiro, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford.

Substitutes: Butland, Shaw, Varane, Wan-Bissaka, Eriksen, McTominay, Martial, Pellistri, Weghorst.
