A young Manchester United side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Astana in Kazakhstan, despite Jesse Lingard opening the scoring with his first goal of the season.
Our captain fired home after just 10 minutes, but Dmitriy Shomko’s 55th-minute drive and an own goal from debutant Di’Shon Bernard ended our unbeaten start to the season in the Europa League.
The Blue and Yellows were grateful to goalkeeper Nenad Eric for maintaining their lead, the 37-year-old making outstanding saves to deny Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood late on.
