Atletico reveal travelling squad

Atletico Madrid have named their 23-man squad to journey to Manchester for Tuesday’s Champions League round-of-16 second leg.

Captain and key midfielder Koke missed out on the reverse fixture in the Spanish capital but has been included in the travelling party.

The 30-year-old returned for the opening 45 minutes of Friday’s 2-1 victory over Cadiz in La Liga, a result which kept Los Colchoneros in the division’s top four.

Defender Stefan Savic, who had been an injury doubt for the tie, played the full game at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Geoffrey Kondogbia and Mario Hermoso were not involved but Atleti have confirmed that both will be on the plane to the UK today.

Here's a reminder of how the first leg unfolded in our Champions League last-16 tie...

The two biggest-name absentees are defender Sime Vrsaljko and midfielder Thomas Lemar.

Both players made it on to the pitch for the first leg, which of course finished 1-1 after Anthony Elanga’s late leveller.

Vrsaljko picked up a thigh muscle injury during last week’s win over Real Betis, while Lemar has a similar issue and neither player has travelled.

Yannick Carrasco is still suspended and Matheus Cunha and Daniel Wass are long-term injury concerns.
