Injury update: Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have been boosted by two players returning to training in preparation for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League tie against Manchester United.

Our first Group A opponents, who host the 20:00 BST kick-off at the Allianz Arena, welcomed Kingsley Coman back into the fold after the France international was ruled out of Friday's Bundesliga draw with Bayer Leverkusen, due to a muscular issue.

The highly rated winger scored the only goal of the 2019/20 Champions League final, against his former club Paris Saint-Germain.

The United right-back is set for a period on the sidelines.

Raphael Guerreiro has also been pictured working again with his team-mates, after being out injured since July.

The Portugal international joined in the summer, from Borussia Dortmund, but has yet to appear for his new club after suffering a calf problem.

Whether this Wednesday's game comes too soon for the versatile 29-year-old is not yet clear.

Much-decorated keeper Manuel Neuer is on the way back from a broken leg, while Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has stressed that Joshua Kimmich's substitution against Bayer Leverkusen was a precaution.

"Joshua had an inflamed tendon and we didn't want to take any risk with him," said Tuchel. "The medical team clearly said he could only play 60 minutes and that's why we brought him off in the 60th minute."

Tuchel is suspended, though, for the game and will not be on the touchline in Bavaria. Assistant coaches Zsolt Low and Anthony Barry will be on the sidelines instead for the clash.
