Training boost for Rangnick

Manchester United interim coach Ralf Rangnick could soon have more selection options available to him, following positive signs at the Reds' latest Carrington training session.

Ahead of the Champions League visit of Young Boys on Wednesday, and with top spot in Group F already assured, it was interesting to see which players were working out in front of our cameras amid chilly conditions.

Our new boss's first XI was unchanged from the one that defeated Arsenal on Thursday night, as a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace made it two home wins out of two in the space of a few days.

Edinson Cavani is back in training as the Reds prepare to meet Young Boys.

There was no Luke Shaw again on Sunday as he continued to recover from a couple of head injuries but the left-back was out on the grass on Tuesday morning.

Jesse Lingard was another of those unavailable for the clash with the Eagles, yet he was also spotted and will hope for a run-out under the lights against our Swiss opponents.

Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani have been longer-term casualties but the excellent news is that both decorated stars were also part of the group and could be closing on a return to first-team action.

With so many matches on the horizon, it will be of great benefit to have more players available. Following the European tie against Young Boys, we face a trip to Norwich City on Saturday (17:30 GMT) before a first-ever game at Brentford's Community Stadium on Tuesday 14 December (19:30 GMT).
