Breakdown of all 121 goals scored in 2020/21
With 121 goals scored in the 2020/21 season, it was the highest-scoring campaign for Manchester United in 14 years.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side ran riot on their day with thumping victories against Southampton, Leeds United, AS Roma and RB Leipzig.
After a 61-game season - on only five occasions have United played more games in a single campaign - it can be easy to forget some of the best goals scored by the Reds over the last nine months.
Fear not, you can watch every goal scored by United in the 2020/21 campaign here, as we run through the stats from last term...
The last time United scored more than 120 goals in one year was in 2006/07, when we lifted the Premier League title and reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Led by a rampant Cristiano Ronaldo (23 goals) and Wayne Rooney (23), with understudies in the form of Louis Saha (13) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (11), United enjoyed regular big victories, showing some similarities to this season.
Now manager, Solskjaer saw Bruno Fernandes (28) and Marcus Rashford (21) led the way for the side, with a supporting cast of Edinson Cavani (17) and Mason Greenwood (12).
In 2007, though, United scored more than four goals on only two occasions - a 7-1 rout of AS Roma and a 5-1 opening day win against Fulham - whereas this season, we netted nine against Southampton, six against Roma and Leeds and five against RB Leipzig.
As for the times and types of goals scored, the stats provide some interesting insight into our season.
WHEN OUR GOALS WERE SCORED
0-15 minutes: 12 goals
We've scored almost double the number of goals in the last quarter-of-an-hour of games than in any other 15-minute sector. Typical of United in the past but particularly so this season, comeback victories have been a common occurrence.
Moving into next season, the boss will want to reduce the number of times United have to come from behind to win even though he's pleased with the character the side has shown throughout the year.
Every Premier League Goal: 2006/07 season
Watch all 83 of United's Premier League goals from the 2006/07 campaign, as we celebrate the club reaching 2,000...
As for comparisons with 2006/07, there are a few to be made. United had some flourishing players in that side, some of whom had already reached their peak and others who needed another year or two to find it. Elsewhere in the side, there were some senior statesman - such as Solskjaer, like Cavani - and a couple of players who needed fresh faces alongside them to improve even more. Cristiano Ronaldo's tally skyrocketed the next season to 42 goals when Carlos Tevez was brought in to form a part of a fearsome front three.
United came close to a Treble in that season only to fall near the end in both the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League. We built on it the next season, adapted the approach to big games and finished as winners of the Premier League and Champions League.
Solskjaer and his coaching staff will be fully aware that this United side has not achieved what the 2006/07 side did yet, but may take some lessons from the steps taken in the summer of 2007 to improve the side under Sir Alex Ferguson.
