Bruno committed to United's project

Bruno Fernandes has reaffirmed he is committed to Manchester United's ongoing project amid speculation linking him with a transfer away from the club.

Our club captain, who won both the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year for the 2024/25 campaign, enjoyed another standout individual season.

Having scored 19 goals and registered 19 assists in all competitions, Fernandes was additionally named our Player of the Month earlier today for May, for a fourth consecutive month.

But after disappointment in both the Premier League and the Europa League, talk of a move away from Old Trafford has made news headlines over the past few weeks.

Speculation has continued to grow, but Fernandes has now cleared up his intentions to remain with Ruben Amorim's side and fight to resurrect the Reds following a difficult transitional period.

Our super skipper has claimed the final prize of the 2024/25 campaign.

"There was an opportunity," began Bruno when asked about a potential move away from Old Trafford in Portugal's press conference this evening.

"The [Al-Hilal] president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me. I spoke to coach [Ruben] Amorim. He asked me not to go.

"Manchester United didn’t want to sell me. They don’t need the money. If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen."
The Reds have already acted with haste to secure our first summer signing, with Matheus Cunha agreeing to join from Wolves, subject to visa and registration.

But our influential no.8 has no plans to be anywhere but the Theatre of Dreams heading into a vital summer period, with the former Sporting man insisting competing for the biggest honours remains a personal goal.
“It was an easy move, even at a family level," added Bruno, speaking ahead of Portugal's Nations League semi-final with Germany on Wednesday.

"I had João Cancelo there, my children are used to playing with him in the national team. We have a great friendship.

"But I want to maintain myself at the highest level, playing in the big competitions and I feel capable of it."
