Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes says Michael Carrick is championing togetherness among the squad, after our latest Premier League success against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds made it four wins in a row with a relatively comfortable 2-0 display at Old Trafford, thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Fernandes himself.

Bruno was instrumental as ever, popping up all over the pitch, as he chalked up 200 goal involvements for the club with his latest strike - his 104th for the club.

Speaking to host broadcaster TNT Sports after the game, our no.8 admitted Carrick has allowed the group a new-found sense of freedom and responsibility on the pitch.

"This is football, football changes from one game to the other," began Fernandes when speaking to Jules Breach.

"I think Michael [Carrick] came in with the right ideas of giving the players the responsibility, but also some freedom to take the responsibility on the pitch during the decisions that are needed.

"He's very good with the words and I think he still remembers when I told him last time he was our manager, for our last game, and I was sure Michael could be a great manager and now he is showing it.

"We hope we can help him even more so everyone can see, not just us as the players, that we are good players and that is why we are at Manchester United, but also the staff is very good."

Bruno also created six chances for his team-mates across the 90 minutes, in addition to putting the flourishing touch on Diogo Dalot's teasing cross to double our lead.

The captain, who was also involved in the clever corner routine that led to our opener, admitted that playing for a club of our stature brings natural pressure that you must learn to deal with.

"I think everyone understands the pressure of playing for this club," added the Portugal international.

"If you don't understand, you start to understand very quickly. This is a massive club and everyone knows the expectations around it.

"I don't think that changes but of course Michael has won everything here and he knows what it means to these fans and for the club to win. So much is needed to win in this football club and I think that is something special for this team."
