Bruno sends message to Pogba
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes thinks that team-mate Paul Pogba can still be even better following his superb performance against Leeds United at Old Trafford.
Fernandes was also in scintillating form as he became the first United player since Lou Macari, in 1977, to score a hat-trick on the opening day of a new campaign.
Bruno: The atmosphere was on fire!
Our hat-trick hero explains just how he feels after that virtuoso display...
‘’Amazing," he declared of Pogba. "He's doing really well and he’s such a big player. Everybody knows that and I hope he can keep getting better and better, because I think he can still do so much more.
‘’I’m pretty sure Paul could do five or six [assists] in one game! Paul is a quality player; we all trust him, we all know his qualities. The point is making those performances and to help the team do better and I’m pretty sure Paul is here to do that.’’
He also became the first Manchester United player to do this since the division started in 1992 and already has more assists at this stage than he did in the whole of the last league campaign.
Bruno was also full of praise for the United fans inside Old Trafford this lunchtime, as he says it gives the whole team an extra drive, something everybody has missed over the last 18 months.
