Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can’t wait to work with new signing and ‘top human’ Raphael Varane.

The World Cup-winning centre-back was unveiled on the Old Trafford pitch prior to the 5-1 win over Leeds, just minutes after his move from Real Madrid was announced.

Ole couldn’t speak highly enough of Varane after the game and has revealed the excitement in the dressing room at the arrival of such a proven winner.

Relive the moment Raphael Varane was unveiled as a Red, before our Old Trafford match against Leeds in 2021...

“I haven’t spoken to him after the game but, of course, it was a nice moment for him and a nice moment for the fans as well,” said Solskjaer.

“Them together, they are looking forward to seeing him, he is looking forward to seeing his team-mates and I am looking forward to working with him. Top professional.

“I have followed his career throughout and you just see the way he conducts himself and the way he lives his life, so all the chats I have had with him, the club has had with him we have got a top human being as well as a top player.”

A current Red took to social media to air his delight at the news.

Varane’s new team-mate, Marcus Rashford, is currently out injured and in recovery after undergoing a shoulder operation.

Our no.10 still found the time to greet the new arrival, however, tweeting ‘Welcome brother’ just after full-time, to which Raphael replied: ‘Thank you Marcus, see you soon!’
