Bruno says final-day response is a must

Bruno Fernandes insists that Manchester United must finish a campaign of "ups and downs" on a positive note in our remaining match away to Crystal Palace, following the 4-0 loss away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Reds put in a below-par performance on the south coast and were punished by an on-song home side at the Amex Stadium.

After Moises Caicedo’s first-half opener, Brighton netted three further times before the hour-mark to condemn United to a heavy defeat in our penultimate game of the season.

The skipper gives his verdict on a very poor day at the office for United...

“The whole season has been like this, ups and downs, the downs have been too down, and we have one game left. We have to win that game and that’s everything we can do,” the midfielder told MUTV after our defeat to the Seagulls.

“The game is far away but we have to keep our focus, do our best and understand that last game is important for us, and we have to win it.”
In his post-match interview, Fernandes also had a message for the supporters who made the long trip down south and were there in their numbers supporting the Reds to the end.

“As always, we have to be grateful, they have been through bad things seeing their club this season and as I said, they have been supporting us all through the season," Bruno explained.

“As I said in another interview, if it was another club or another country, today probably could be more than empty our side and it was not like that, they support us until the end.

“Once again, thank you.”
