Has Bruno been the Premier League’s star man in 2025/26?
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has enjoyed an incredibly impressive Premier League season to date, and that impact is being recognised by fans.
Our captain has helped propel the Reds up to third in the top-flight table ahead of this weekend’s meeting with Aston Villa, with seven goals and a division-leading 14 assists.
Alongside Erling Haaland, he’s one of only two players to have racked up at least 20 direct goal involvements in the 2025/26 Premier League, and he’s now far and away the leader of a fan poll that underlines his undeniable influence.
Earlier this week, the Premier League asked fans on their platforms a simple question: who has been the division’s Player of the Season so far?
Bruno is alongside 13 top performers from other clubs that supporters can select, and our captain has garnered a majority 47 per cent of votes at the time of writing.
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has also received a significant share of the selections, in a season that he has drawn praise for his performances in a less familiar right-back role, but his 22 per cent in second place makes Fernandes the clear frontrunner out on top.
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel (seven per cent) and Manchester City’s Antoine Semenyo (six per cent) – who earned his January transfer to the Etihad Stadium after an impressive first half of the campaign with Bournemouth – are the most favoured players beyond the top two.

The poll is a bit of fun for fans to get involved with before this weekend’s top-flight fixtures, but it also suggests - if the stats didn't already - that Fernandes is set to be in the conversation to win the Premier League Player of the Season award, come the end of the campaign.
Votes from the public will be combined with those submitted by a panel of experts and the 20 club captains, a group Bruno is of course part of, to determine the recipient of the prestigious prize.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is the current holder of the trophy, but no club's players have won it more times than United's eight, since it was introduced for the 1994/95 season.
Nemanja Vidic was the last Red to be honoured with the gong in 2010/11, the second of two successes after he first picked up the silverware two years earlier.
Cristiano Ronaldo also won it twice at Old Trafford, while Wayne Rooney, Peter Schmeichel, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Dwight Yorke are on an esteemed winners’ list too.
