Fernandes: I need to feel that Bruno back

Bruno Fernandes has outlined his character and determination to play to his maximum, in order to help Manchester United win games.

The skipper marked his 200th Premier League appearance with his 100th goal, in all competitions, for the Reds by opening the scoring in the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

He gave everything, as always, and shifted into a more advanced position in the second half when almost making the points safe with a stinging drive that was superbly palmed away by replacement goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen. Unusually, he was replaced in the closing stages as we held out for the points, going through all the emotions on the sidelines, like the supporters.

During a post-match chat with MUTV, our no.8 insisted he will never change in terms of his attitude to playing the beautiful game.

Bruno Fernandes moves past Bryan Robson's goal tally and pays tribute to the club legend...

"I just want to enjoy playing football," he told Liam Bradford after the game. "I enjoy so much being out there, even the frustration I have out on the pitch.

"I enjoy that. That is me being me. I won't ever change that. I know I need to deal with everyone in a different way, and I'm able to do that, but I need to feel that.

"I need to feel that Bruno back. That was the Bruno who played down the streets with his cousins.

"This is the same Bruno, I just want to win games and be happy. Not just for me, for my team-mates, my family, my fans, to get days like this and wins like that."
