Bruno Fernandes has been crowned Manchester United’s Player of the Month for February, after a superb individual start to his Old Trafford career.

The Portuguese midfielder signed from Sporting Lisbon at the end of January and has contributed two goals and two assists in just five games for the Reds, helping extend our unbeaten run in all competitions to seven.

Bruno claimed three Man-of-the-Match awards last month and was the overwhelming winner of the vote in our Official App, finishing with 80 per cent of the vote.

Anthony Martial (14 per cent) came second after netting three vital goals, against Chelsea, Club Brugge and Watford, while Luke Shaw (six per cent), who played every minute in February and helped the Reds to four clean sheets, was third.

Thanks to everyone who voted in our poll – and congratulations, Bruno!

A MONTH TO REMEMBER

The 25-year-old made his United debut against Wolves on 1 February, just two days after completing his move from Portugal.

Although the Reds were forced to settle for a draw in our last game before the winter break, Bruno impressed with his on-field leadership and attacking creativity.

Those traits were evident 16 days later when he helped us to a vital win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, setting up Harry Maguire’s game-clinching second with a precision corner kick.

After a confident cameo off the bench away to Club Brugge, Fernandes registered his first United goal when coolly converting from the penalty spot against Watford, before turning provider for Martial and Mason Greenwood.

Another penalty followed in the comfortable 5-0 win over the Belgians and Bruno also played a pivotal part in Odion Ighalo’s goal in a 65-minute performance which oozed class and led to praise from the manager, team-mates and a legendary former United midfielder.

Mason Greenwood: “Bruno’s a top person. He helps the team in every way possible, both attacking and defending. It is great to have him at the club. It looks like he has been here for years and he’s settled in nice and sweet. He is part of the group now and part of the team.”

Paul Scholes: “He looks a special talent and looks like he can be a hero of the fans as well. It is difficult to defend against.”

Bruno is the fifth different winner of the award for the Reds this season. Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford have two wins each to their name, while Daniel James and Fred took home the August and January gongs, respectively.
